We are developing field-based high-throughput phenotyping (HTP) for rapid characterization of field plots. Some of the many systems that we are investigating include:
tractor mounted platforms
unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
- open-source sensor data collection applications (DySense)
Our current project, funded through the NSF Plant Genome Research Program, aims to develop field-based HTP tools and methodologies to rapidly acquire accurate and precise data. Read more about the project in the project narrative.
A recent webinar available through the Plant Breeders Training Network details much of the progress that has been made with HTP.
