As a junior in Agricultural Communications and Journalism at Kansas State University, Malerie Strahm, joined the Innovation Lab for Applied Wheat Genomics in January 2015. Growing up in rural Kansas sparked her passion for agriculture and she now focuses on using her creative skills to spread awareness and truths about agriculture. Her past work experience includes a position in K-State Agronomy where she assisted Soil Microbiology Assistant Professor Peter Tomlinson with soils and agriculture-related tasks. In that same position, she assisted the Great Plains Grazing project manager with communications-related tasks such as data organization, press releases, info graphics and web updates. Strahm managed the Innovation Lab for Applied Wheat Genomics website and www.wheatgenetics.org. She also worked on publications, graphics and photography for the organization among other communications responsibilities.
