Plant breeding and genetics using conventional, molecular, and statistical tools, specifically in wheat breeding and wheat quantitative genetics. I expect to learn new insights about conventional and molecular breeding in order to gain the basic knowledge and experience needed to be able to face new challenges in the future using new ideas and a rigorous scientific vision. On the other hand, I am interested in gaining knowledge in the physiological mechanisms that plants use to adapt or survive in different stressful conditions, for example: heat stress, water stress, nutrient management, and others.  Additionally, I’m very interested in the classical approach to plant breeding as well as improving my statistical knowledge to be able to better handle breeding and field information, including multi-environment trials, multiple year evaluations, and high amounts of phenotypic and genotypic data.
